Is Online Dating Just an Excuse For Avoiding Approach Anxiety?

Well, I guess that all depends on what your goals are. If you are looking to improve your skills approaching women in the field and you are spending all your time behind a computer screen, then yes, I suppose you would be correct about avoiding approach anxiety.
But if your goal is to simply meet women, online dating is a GREAT way to go about it (as well as one of the EASIEST). There are literally MILLIONS of women on the various websites, and we already know off the bat that they are single and looking for guys.
I also disagree with the notion that online dating doesn’t improve your dating skills. The purpose of online dating is (or at least it SHOULD be) to get an actual DATE. There is going to come a point when you will have to come out from behind your computer and actually MEET these women.
If you are doing things correctly, by the time you have an in-person meeting with a woman you met online, you have already exchanged 2-3 emails (hopefully not more than that) and have spoken on the phone once (no more than 15-20 minutes... save it for when you meet!). You guys should have PLENTY to talk about.
